Privacy information for EAF Socials

Information handled by Socials

  • EAF account information used for access, including your EAF identity, name, group and service permissions.
  • Draft and published-content records, including titles, text, channel versions, source links, uploaded media, alternative text and file details.
  • Connected platform account identifiers, connection permission details and provider credentials. Stored provider credentials are encrypted and are not displayed back to editors.
  • Available mentions and source-post information, such as author names or handles, text, links, platform identifiers and media references, together with available results and statistics.
  • Permission and operational records, including source-media reuse choices, publication requests, delivery outcomes, timestamps and audit events.
  • Essential sign-in cookies, session and technical security information used to control access, validate requests, limit abuse and diagnose failures. Your selected language and theme are stored as browser preferences.

How Socials uses this information

Socials uses this information to check access, prepare and manage EAF content, connect authorized platform accounts, carry out requested publications, collect available mentions and results, and maintain security and operational accountability.

Editors are responsible for checking that they may use the content they upload or reuse. A recorded source-media permission choice is separate from account access and platform authorization.

Who can access Socials records

Authenticated editorial access is restricted to these authorized EAF groups:

Connection management and audit viewing are restricted to EAF Administrator and EAF President. Public legal pages do not show private account, draft, credential or audit records.

Platforms and optional source previews

When an authorized user requests publication, Socials sends the selected content and any required media or account information to the selected platform. The platform’s own terms and privacy information also apply to its processing.

Connected platforms may return mentions, source information and statistics allowed by their APIs and account permissions. Collection is requested manually and uses your current EAF session. Coverage varies; private or unavailable content may be missing.

Opening an in-portal source preview is optional. If you choose to load a platform embed or provider-hosted source media, the provider may receive your IP address, browser information and viewing request. Where a platform embed is unavailable, Socials may show a source card.

Disconnecting and deletion requests

Disconnecting a platform removes its active local connection record and the credentials stored in that record. Encrypted credential-recovery records and security history may remain for reconciliation; those retained records do not by themselves authorize further platform access. The disconnect action is recorded in audit history. This does not delete collected records or posts on the platform and cannot undo an action already accepted or in progress.
